In Orlean (1990) article " Quiceanera"  both 'Quinceanera" and "Two Kinds" feature a public performance that functions as a rite of passage. What does the performance mean to the participants in each selection? How is its meaning similar and different for the children who take part in it?

In one of Young (1991) stories, The Representatives, the young man stated in the last paragraph that "Mary livin' well while Marta ketching hell". Fully discuss this statement in terms of the political and social environment represented in Young's work.  Is this story a reflection of post-independence Belize.
